Projects from Industry and Research
Data Analysis
- Many years of collaboration with idalab GmbH on projects for customers such as Deutsche Bank and well-respected business accounting agencies - application of statistical methods of data analysis on massive amounts of data.
- Development of an Adative Search Engine as PhD-Student of Work Group Machine Learning/TU Berlin (three years as scholarship holder at IGP H-C3). Application of different techniques from repetitive crawling of internet sources, integration into SQL-databases, analysis with methods of machine learning to presentation through web interfaces.
- Further projects in the areas of real-time trend-detection and creation of scientific computation libraries.
Interdisciplinary
- In collaboration with Dr. Michael Tillich (Max-Planck-Institut für molekulare Pflanzenphysiologie), Prof. Schmitz-Linneweber (EMMY-NOETHER Group - RNA Binding Proteins in Chloroplasts - HU Berlin) and Dr. Stephan Greiner (also MPI Potsdam), several bioinformatics projects have been realized since 2006, leading to different publications in high-impact journals such as PNAS and Oxford Journal.
Visualization
- For Ocè creation of a software for organization and visualization of large document collections - therefore implementation of methods of knowledge discovery, especially self-organizing feature mas and neural networks.
- 2D-Library with the goal to imitate the plotting capabilities of MATLAB.
- Experiments with Graph-based User-Interfaces.
- 3D-Analytics Tool for high-dimensional data (later integration into the Toolbox of the workgroup Databionics at Philipps-Universität Marburg
- Graphical Information System for visitors of a museum at Biologische Station Bödefeld.
- Diploma Thesis about "Detection and Visualization of Trends in Data from Social Networks"
Web Design
- Realization of many web appearances by order of and in collaboration with Grafik/Design-Büro 4smove.
